Chemical Engineering Graduate Program

  • M. Eng. - project based
    The M. Eng. degree requires 7 course credits and a project. The normal time a student should take to complete this degree is between 12 and 18 months.

  • M. A. Sc. - thesis based
    The M. A. Sc. degree requires 4 courses and a research thesis. The normal time to complete this program is between 18 and 24 months.

  • Ph. D.
    The Ph. D. degree requires 4 courses if a candidate already has a research Master’s degree, otherwise, it requires 8 courses. An original research thesis is also required.
     

Program Requirements

Possession of a baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from an academic institution recognized by Dalhousie University, in which the language of instruction must be English, or four years of full-time post-secondary instruction at a university where English is the primary language of instruction and in a country where English is the principal language; otherwise, a satisfactory score on an approved English language examination is required. The requirement for the TOEFL is 580.

In order to be admitted to an academic program, an applicant must be accepted by a professor into his/her research program in addition to meeting the other requirements for admission.
